The Tonight Show Dynasty
No franchise defines late night like The Tonight Show. Steve Allen hosted first in 1954, but it was Johnny Carson's 30-year run, with sidekick Ed McMahon booming out "Heeere's Johnny!", that turned the show into a nightly institution. Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon have carried the desk forward since.
